I began teaching in 2005 after graduating from the University of Durham in Theology. I spent nine years at St Thomas More Roman Catholic Academy and joined St Robert’s as subject leader in 2013. I have experience of leadership within each Key Stage as well as holding the position of Lead Behaviour Teacher. I have experience in delivering CPD regarding behaviour and classroom management, metacognitive teaching and learning strategies and the central role of RE within a Catholic school.
I am experienced in middle leadership and the implementation of change associated with this role. My areas of expertise include curriculum design, the provision of effective teaching and learning strategies as well as building and maintaining positive working relationships within the classroom and with colleagues. These skills developed whilst working within an outstanding RE Department under the guidance of three HOD’s, one of whom is now a Senior Leader and another who is Deputy Head.
For three years I worked in partnership with Carmel Academy in their delivery of ITT for Religious Education. This aspect of my career was incredibly rewarding and enabled me to develop my skill set and prepared me to confidently implement rigorous and outstanding RE provision.
